Home Organizer Serving Rhode Island

You have come to the right place!!

Welcome to Basket Case Home Organizing

Life is full. Between work, family, responsibilities, and the unexpected demands of everyday life, it's easy for our homes to become overwhelmed and disconnected from the way we want to live. I believe everyone deserves a space that feels calm, functional, and supportive—a place that helps you breathe a little easier at the end of the day. Together, we'll create a home that works with your life, reflects who you are, and brings a sense of peace to your daily routine.

Our projects: Does this sound like you?

Clutter Case 1: A closet that has taken over a guest room

Guest Room Makeover

Sarah contacted me because her closet had taken over her guest room. She uses this closet to get ready in the morning and it had become overwhelmed with a clothing collection spanning 30 years. She and her husband wanted to use the space for guests, get a larger bed and make the space hospitable but her clothes had taken center stage.

What we did..

I worked with Sarah to go through all of her clothes and determine what she actually wore and found useful and what was a relic of days gone by.

So many people collect clothing and their clothes can become linked to events and the emotions related to them, making it difficult to let go of items. We live our lives in our clothes. I work with clients to separate their clothing from the emotions they often tie to them, creating more clarity when decluttering.

In addition, I create clear categories and storage boundaries, making hard decisions a little easier for clients, but also resulting in systems that can be more easily maintained.

At the end of this session, Sarah had an empty guest room, ready for guests and a closet full of options.

Clear boundaries in her closet allowed her to more easily see what she does have, leading to less overwhelm and even money saved over time.

Work in a judgement free zone with a professional guiding you every step of the way.

Thoughtful curation over minimalism

Your home is a sanctuary, not a sterile museum or Instagram page. My process respects the life that happens in your space and works with it—creating thoughtful, functional systems that make your home feel lighter, calmer, and beautifully lived in. I focus primarily on clutter coaching, specifically using my 21 year background in education to develop systems for clients with executive functioning challenges, ADHD and other forms of neurodivergence.

Who am I?

Hi, I'm Amy.

I've always been a natural systems creator. While some people see clutter or overwhelm, I tend to see possibilities, patterns, and simple solutions that make everyday life feel easier. More importantly, I believe organization isn't about perfection—it's about creating a home that supports the life you actually live.

For the past 22 years, I've worked as a teacher and educational coach in Rhode Island public schools, helping both adolescents and adults navigate challenges, build confidence, and create systems that allow them to thrive. Those experiences taught me that lasting change happens when structure and support work hand in hand. The same philosophy guides my work as a home organizer today.

I love creating spaces that are both functional and inviting—homes that feel cozy, lived-in, and uniquely yours. My goal isn't to create a picture-perfect space that feels impossible to maintain. It's to help you develop practical systems that fit your routines, reduce stress, and make daily life feel lighter.

Whether you're navigating a busy season of life, feeling overwhelmed by clutter, or simply wanting your home to better reflect who you are, I'm here to help create a space that uplifts you, supports you, and gives you room to breathe.

How Can I Help

With the demands of modern living, sometimes our spaces begin to reflect the chaos we feel every day rather than the calm we want to come home to. We hold onto possessions because they remind us of who we want to be or once were, rather than the people that we are today.

My job is to work with my clients to assess what they want their spaces to look like, feel like and function. We then work together through this process to make your space one that recharges you, giving you more time and saving you money.
